1 Liability and personal responsibility - I agree the activity of cycling with the riders on public roads & trails can cause damage to equipment, serious injury, or even death. I promise I will not hold Ridenfaden club, organizers or riders responsible in the event of any damage or injury.
2 Rider conduct - We require riders on any Ridenfaden event to be courteous to other riders and motorists during our activity. When you wear our jersey or ride with our group, you are representing us and what we stand for: An inclusive Louisville cycling community.
3 Group riding 1 - Riders in a group ride, especially in the front of the group, must: Call out turns, bumps, potholes, glass/debris, changing of traffic signals (red/green lights) verbally and or visually for riders behind them. The front rider(s) should always call out 'Car up' while approaching parked or moving vehicles. The rider(s) in the back should call out 'Car back' when a vehicle is about to pass the group.
4 Group riding 2 - No headphones are to be worn or used on group rides. No aero handlebars are to be used on group rides. When riding in a paceline, riders must: follow the leaders moves, pull through gently, don't cross wheels of rider ahead, look ahead, no false moves, don't get distracted with headphones or looking at your computer, front rider should always keep pulling and if tired, shake your elbow to signal you’re moving from the front, merge from the front then sit on back allowing riders to work together.
5 Group riding 3 - If a rider is having difficulty: Off the back, mechanical, crash etc., Call this out immediately so we may assist, regroup or call for help. If a rider is having a mechanical, slowly move to the right side of the road, tell everyone you’re having a mechanical so they may avoid hitting you and to be aware so they may offer you help. If you see a rider having a mechanical and you can help them, do not hesitate. Everyone must be aware of what is going on in the group, what might affect the groups safety and if someone needs help.
6 Social media (Facebook or Instagram) Posts off topic Please don’t post anything unrelated to Ridenfaden interests or cycling related. This includes personal off topic posts.
7 Be Kind and Courteous We're all in this together to create a welcoming environment. Let's treat everyone with respect. Healthy debates are natural, but kindness is required.
8 Sexual harassment of any kind will not be tolerated and will be subject to immediate removal from the group and group activities. If you’re being harassed by anyone in the group, report it immediately so we may take action. Your privacy will be protected. Bullying of any kind isn't allowed, and degrading comments about things like race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated.
9 No Promotions or Spam Give more than you take to this group. Self-promotion, spam and irrelevant links aren't allowed. Bicycle related posts only.
10 Respect Everyone's Privacy Being part of this group requires mutual trust. Authentic, expressive discussions make groups great, but may also be sensitive and private. What's shared in the group should stay in the group.
