Beginner 100 miler
This will be a ride aimed at those of us that have never completed a 100 mile ride. Projected pace will be 13-16 average for the ride (6-8 hours). This will be a no-drop ride. There will be multiple opportunities to “Bow-out” if needed, since we will be passing by the Big Four bridge a couple of times (mile 25 and mile 40).
Bring plenty of water and nutrition. There will be available stops every 20-30 miles, so we can give our legs (and bums) a rest if needed.
It would also be helpful to get in at least a couple of 100km rides prior to this. The Dan-O’s ride will be two weeks before, and the OKHT will be the week before, so there will be opportunities.
This course is extremely flat, with only 1200 feet of climbing (largest climbs are crossing the east end bridge and Big Four bridge) per Strava.
Ride will roll promptly at 7:00am. Bring tail lights as a minimum.
This ride is subject to weather conditions and will be canceled if it is raining, or there is a significant chance of rain during the ride.
