Due to a few reasons, the Zanchi Rehab Monday 5:15 ride is cancelled for this evening.
If you’ve been following this page and the news, you probably have heard about the Extermination of up to 80 deer in the area of Orign park along the Ohio river Greenway taking place in the evenings this week.
 What this means for anyone accessing the Greenway is that it will probably be closed due to gunfire activity of hunters and all of the dangers that entails for users from tonight thru the 27th.
Whether you agree with this Culling operation (if you wanna call it that) or not, it will take place. We understand it may be necessary, but what is more necessary than that is good communication and transparency from all the organizations involved which has not happened yet (still waiting) ⏳
City of New Albany Government announced it yesterday, but it’s not even in their jurisdiction. The board president of
Town of Clarksville has made a statement that they were not informed and it’s on their property,
Origin Park is working with
Indiana DNR Division of Forestry and contracted Hunters to carry it out but to this hour, they have not made an official statement.
This operation may not be unnecessary, but the communication to the general public is absolutely necessary and has not happened yet. We urge you to reach out to Orign park about your concerns and demand better communication and transparency in the future.
The area of the Ohio River Greenway is not just about origin Park, it’s about three cities in Indiana, it’s about a scenic multiuse path that goes through it, and all of the users who access it. We deserve better from this organization, and hopefully they will learn that.
